I did more playing on the Osage pipes today as well as another C set I made for a good guitar player friend of mine in Houston. This is the week for C sets I guess since I started that Cocobolo set with the Olive mounts. I made the bag for that set and started turning the connectors. Thinking about the switch for the Blackwood A pipes I thumbed through the new jeweler’s catalogue and found a new product that looked interesting. It’s called Argentium Sterling and basically it’s sterling silver made with 7% germanium instead of 7% copper. Sterling is .925 silver and the remainder can be anything, usually copper but germanium is supposed to be tarnish resistant. I’m thinking of moving to that stuff but I’ve got to check it out a little more.
