So I went the weekly Irish session at the Jack of the Wood pub last night and there’s this great guitar player there who sang the Richard Thompson song “Beeswing”. Sometimes I just feel like the most illiterate person in the world and last night was one of those times. Here was this amazing song I’d never really heard by a songwriter I didn’t really know, but knew of. Ten bucks later, back at the house, I had an album by Mr Thompson called “Action Packed” and listened to it all day while I did the final turning on the drones for the current set. 

I must say I liked the cover last night as much as the original I listened to all day. He sang the words very clearly, without affectation, and it allowed one to hear the brilliantly written lyrics to the song. 

Now I’m in the most fun stage of the pipe making which is tying everything together and taking pictures. I’ll have some of those up tomorrow.
