Cedric the wizard’s pipes
Someone told me today that Cedric from the Harry Potter series had a wand made of Blackwood and Olive. I’ve been working away every possible second of the last week or so trying to get this set of pipes finished and now they’re almost there. I’ve just got to play them for a few days.
I’m back on the garment leather that I like so much. I made the last five bags from a very thick upholstery leather that I chose just because the last batch of garment leather came in too grey on the suede side. I like the thinner garment leather because it’s a lot easier to tie in, the pipes fit better in the case, and it’s softer.
I’ve had a lot of new stuff happening in the workshop this week and a lot of new materials coming in. I’ll try to get some pictures up of everything but I’m also supposed to pack for my trip to Houston and Arizona tonight. If I leave at 6 AM I’ll make it in time for the Irish Session at the Mucky Duck. Let’s see, lately I’ve been working like a fiend until 4 AM every night for the last ten days, sleeping until 11 AM, and I’ve got to fit three ferrules, finish a bellows, repair a couple of cracked Tagua mounts, and make a GB chanter in Olive, and pack for a week of gigs and travel. I don’t know if it’s going to happen but I really want to go play flute at the Duck tomorrow night.
Wish me luck.
