I grew up playing with many of the pipers in this band and since I was free I decided to come up here and play in the Grade III band contest. It feels great to be back playing with these guys who kept me on the right track as a teenager. Our old lineup won the event as the Hamilton Pipe Band in 1993 under Donald MacPhee’s direction and we got a vintage of wine named after us. I’ll be proud to march with Westminster tomorrow Pipe Majored by my friend Bruce Robertson who was also in Hamilton.
