Days and days turning pipes the livelong day makes EJ a dull boy.
Sooooo it’s time to pack up every instrument in the car and go on tour to Texas! First stop the Renaissance festival where I’ll be playing in Medieval pajamas with the band Istanpitta. Last year I got a great photo of someone dressed as Darth Vader in a kilt with a little girl (no relation) who happened to be walking by wearing fairy wings. Since it’s only Friday night and the day hasn’t happened yet I thought I’d put up a funny picture I took that made me realize I was now in Texas.

The sticker reads: “Obama Lied, The Economy Died”
Now I’m not trying to make a political statement or anything but…..one has to appreciate the irony of this sticker on a brand new Lexus, in Texas, no less.

I’ll be trying to post more from the road in the next two weeks. In the workshop some new developments are that I’ve been making chanter reeds out of some new cane that is making the pipes louder and brighter. Sampson cane from California, linked below.

I shipped a beautiful set of pipes to Iowa this week and finished the turning on a set going to Canada, which I’ll be assembling and playing for the duration of the tour. Both sets were briefly in the workshop together and I took a snapshot of two chanter soles.
