Off to the Printers
Well the CD is finally done and Crossing the Sabine is out of our hands and off to be printed. I anticipate copies in hand by May 3, in plenty of time for the May 13 release. The plan to make a “pilot” CD failed since all of us are at least 20 years or more into our careers as recording artists and once we had the basic instrumentation, we had to add harmonies and other instruments and invite as many friends as possible in the allotted time to record with us.
Rich Brotherton at Ace Recording in Austin works very fast and efficiently and gave us re-mixes and masters in no time. I’ve wanted to work on my own project with Rich for a very long time, and now that we’ve spent so many days working together, I’ve learned so much recording and get a glimpse of how much more there is to learn.
Now that we can’t tweak it any more, the only thing left is to get to work on the next things, and just a couple of days ago Frances and I got to work on a song for her solo project due out by December.
I’m just itching to put up some tracks from the CD now that I have the masters but Frances and I made a pact not to release anything until we have the CDs and send them to you!
