Stripping
I’m currently driving away from Austin Tx where Frances and I were back with Rich Brotherton at Ace Recording with our drummer friend Matthew Williams on the kit. We just had a fantastic weekend releasing the Crossing the Sabine to a full house in Houston and a perfect-weather festival in Arlington at the Texas Scottish Festival.
If you’re reading this I certainly hope you’ve gotten at least one CD in the mail! I know we might have gone a little overboard with the layering on the CD but I thought I would post some stripped-down tracks so you can hear some softer versions of things.
Thank you to our donors and pre-order-ers! You are absolutely responsible for our recordings existing:
Linda Hill
James Lewis
Darryl and Tamara McLeod
Pat Jones
Shelley Leatherwood
Jo Anne Kellaway
Christina Loescher
Richard Pitonyak
Kim Kimball
Laura Hilbun
Virginia Lamprecht
Crossing the Sabine Remix1
Just one flute
Dalena McKay Remix1
intro without the snare drum
Tom’s Export Remix1
before we added trumpet
Wave the Ocean Remix1
you can hear the banjo better now
I like Crossing the Sabine better on the CD but like this stripped version of Wave the Ocean better (like the banjo).
It’s interesting hearing the different mixes of the songs. How do you decide which one is ‘better’??
